FAQ: What is Breakout Waikiki?
- Breakout Waikiki is Hawaii’s top-rated live action escape game and one of the highest rated escape games in the world. In fact, we are the only escape game to host a sitting U.S. President.
- We are family-friendly, intentional about quality time and shared experiences, and we’re pretty dang awesome!!

FAQ: How early should I arrive?
- Parking in Waikiki can be tricky! To be safe, we suggest arriving around 15-20 minutes before your reservation to find a parking spot that works for you. Worst case scenario, you arrive early for your room – in which case we are happy to recommend some local food and drink spots to enjoy!
FAQ: How do I book a room?
- Please book your experience on our Booking Page, Your welcome to try your luck by walking in to book in person also. We recommend booking online as spaces can fill up quickly. You will be charged immediately for your experience when you book online. If you would like to add additional players to your group (up to 8 people total) we can do that in person when you arrive for your escape.
- Large groups of 17+ guests for parties or team-building outings can be booked by completing our Groups & Parties form. We’ll be in touch shortly!
FAQ: Am I really going to be locked in a room?
- The short answer is no. That doesn’t sound safe or legal! You are free to leave the room at any time. However, by leaving the room mid-game, you’ll miss out on some of the fun!
FAQ: How many people play?
- .2 – 8 Participants per room.
- At least 2-3 participants are needed to play our escape games – but the more people you have on your team, the better your chances of winning! All rooms are private. This means you will only play with your invited friends and family.
- On Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays we do have a 4-person weekend minimum charge for our PRIVATE escape room experiences (Refer to the booking page for current prices).
- Players 13 and under are required to be accompanied by an adult (18+).
FAQ: How do I pay?
- When you reserve your escape room(s) online, you WILL BE CHARGED for your experience. Keep in mind there there is a 4 person minimum charge Friday thru Sunday.
- We accept all major credit cards.
FAQ: Can I book with my friends or family?
- Of course! One person should book the room for your entire group online. We suggest using services like Venmo or Cashapp to collect money from your friends – they owe you one for taking lead!
- Splitting payments can only be done in person. This is not available online.
FAQ: Can you accommodate larger parties and events?
- Absolutely! You can either book through our main Booking Page, or email us directly to rent our facility for your party or corporate event.

FAQ: If I’ve done a room, can I do the same room again or will it be the same?
- The room and the puzzles will be the same but if you’d like to accompany a group of friends on their adventure, you’re more than welcome to. We simply ask that you be considerate of your fellow guests and allow them to enjoy the puzzles as you did!
- It is important to note: any groups containing previous attendees will not be eligible to set records.
FAQ: How long is each game?
- Each game is given 60 minutes to complete. We ask that you to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your experience for parking and preparation and plan to stay at least 5 minutes after to debrief and take your group picture to commemorate your victory (or defeat!)
FAQ: WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PARKING?
We offer validation Embassy Suites and Wyndham Hotel VALET Parking garages. The cost after validation will be $8.00 (for 4 hours). Any additional time will be an added charge. Payment is made at the garage. Both garages are 7′ in height

FAQ: Something has come up, can I cancel my reservation?
- You can cancel your reservation for any reason with at least 48 hours notice for a full refund.
- Bookings can be modified up until 4 hours before the start time of your escape. This includes the amount of participants and date/time.
- No adjustments or refunds will be made under 4 HOURS of the start time of your escape.
FAQ: SOMETHING HAS COME UP, CAN I RESCHEDULE MY RESERVATION?
- With at least a 4 HOUR notice we will be able to reschedule your room time/date.
- Under 4 HOURS no adjustments, changes, or refunds will be made.
- Please note that this is a live booking experience. Bookings at high volume times such as during nights and weekends will be much harder to reschedule.
FAQ: ENGLISH IS NOT MY PRIMARY LANGUAGE; WILL THAT BE A PROBLEM?
- We are still working on the ability to provide each game experience in English, Japanese and Chinese.

FAQ: What if I am running late to a booking?
- We know things happen, traffic gets bad, and cars run out of gas. There is a 5 MINUTE grace period just in case!
- Anyone who arrives after the 5 MINUTE grace period may join but will risk missing out on the full Breakout experience.
FAQ: What is your age policy?
- While all of our escape rooms are family-friendly, we realize that not everyone can interact with the puzzles in the same way. For that reason, anyone age 5 and under will not be charged to participate in one of our escape rooms. Anyone 6 and up will be charged the standard rate.
- If you are planning to bring children under age 6, please give us a call ahead to ensure that we can accommodate your entire group. Local fire code limits the total number of guests we can have in any one room to 8 regardless of age.
- Guests under the age of 13 must be accompanied by and adult (18+)
FAQ: Are you hiring?
- Yes? No? The short answer is: maybe. The long answer is: we may or may not be hiring depending on the season of the year and the amount of bookings we have. We can’t respond to everyone that applies, but we still love to hear from you! We never know when we’ll need someone extra awesome to join the Breakout Waikiki team.
