FAQs
Breakout Waikiki is Hawaii’s top-rated live action escape game and one of the highest rated escape games in the world. In fact, we are the only escape game to host a sitting U.S. President. We are family-friendly, intentional about quality time and shared experiences, and we’re pretty dang awesome.
Parking in Waikiki can be tricky! To be safe, we suggest arriving around 15-20 minutes before your reservation, to find a parking spot that works for you. Worst case scenario, you arrive early for your room – in which case we are happy to recommend some local food and drink spots to enjoy! Use this Parking Map for assistance.
Please book your experience on our Booking Page, or you can try your luck by walking in to book in person. We recommend booking online, as spaces can fill up quickly. By booking online, you will be reserving your spots (or the entire room) with a credit/debit card, but you will not be charged until after you arrive in person for your adventure! This way you can split up the payment with the other players in your group however you’d like. If you want to add someone to your group (up to 8 people total) we can do that as soon as you arrive for your reservation.
Large groups of 17+ guests for parties or team-building outings can be booked by completing our Groups & Parties form. We’ll be in touch shortly!
The short answer is no; that doesn’t sound safe or legal! You are free to leave the room at any time. However, by leaving the room mid-game, you’ll miss out on some of the fun!
2 – 8 Participants per room.
At least 2-3 participants are needed to play our escape games – but the more people you have on your team, the better your chances of winning! All rooms are private for the near future, meaning you will only play with your invited friends and family.
On Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays we have a 4-person or $160 minimum charge for our private escape room experiences.
Players 13 and under are required to be accompanied by an adult.
All games are now paid for in person before you begin your adventure! You will be able to split payments however you’d like with the other players in your group.
If you reserve your escape room(s) online, you will input a credit/debit card, but your card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.
We accept all major credit cards.
Of course! One person should book the room for your entire group when booking online. You will be able to split payments upon arrival at Breakout Waikiki.
Absolutely! You can either book through our main Booking Page, or email us directly to rent our facility for your party or corporate event.
We also have more information on our Groups Page.
The room and the puzzles will be the same, but if you’d like to accompany a group of friends on their adventure, you’re more than welcome to. We simply ask that you be considerate of your fellow guests and allow them to enjoy the puzzles as you did!
It is important to note: any groups containing previous attendees will not be eligible to set records.
Each game is 60 minutes, though we ask you to arrive 20 minutes prior to your experience for parking and preparation and 5 minutes after to debrief and take pictures to commemorate your victory (or defeat!)
Our recommendation for parking is at 201 Beachwalk Street in the Embassy Suites garage.
We offer validation at departure, and the cost after validation will be $8.00 (for 4 hours) — you’ll pay at the Embassy Suites garage. Use this Parking Map for assistance.
Important things to note about the Embassy Suites Parking Garage:
- The garage clearance is 7’
- Breakout can only validate for 4 hours, any additional time will be an additional charge at the garage
- The garage is valet parking
- All day parking is available for $35.00
If you are looking us up on GPS, the address is a little confusing. Feel free to use these accurate coordinates 21.279189, -157.830725.
If you have any suggestions of other places to park, feel free to email us!
FAQ: Something has come up, can I cancel my reservation?
Once you have booked, you have committed to your escape room experience. We will be glad to help you with a one-time rescheduling of your booking if you provide notice. (See below about rescheduling.) If you are a no-show to your reservation, we will charge your card on file.
FAQ: SOMETHING HAS COME UP, CAN I RESCHEDULE MY RESERVATION?
Once you have booked, you are committed to your experience. If you do not show up, and we are not able to get in touch with you — your card on file will be charged and there will be no refunds.
With at least a 24-hour notice, we will be able to reschedule your room time/date once.
With less than 24 hour notice, rescheduling will not be an option, unless an emergency has come up.
Please note that this is a live booking experience, so bookings at high volume times like nights and weekends will be much harder to reschedule.
FAQ: What if I am running late to a booking?
We know things happen, traffic gets bad, and cars run out of gas. If some or all of your group has not arrived at your designated start time, we offer all groups a five minute grace period at the start of their experience.
Anyone who arrives after the five minute grace period may join but will risk missing out on the full Breakout experience.
FAQ: What is your age policy?
While all of our escape rooms are family-friendly, we realize that not everyone can interact with the puzzles in the same way. For that reason, anyone age 5 and under will not be charged to participate in one of our escape rooms. Anyone 6 and up will be charged the standard rate.
If you are planning to bring children under the age limit, please call ahead to ensure that we can accommodate your entire party. Fire code limits the total number of people we can have in any one room, regardless of age.
